Pioneering Ventures in Tourism
Turka’s journey into the tourism sector began in 1997 with the opening of Palan Otel Ski & Convention Resort in Erzurum, Palandöken. This four-star facility quickly became a major hub in Eastern Turkey for winter sports enthusiasts and corporate events.
Building on this success, Turka added Club Pine Beach, a 5-star holiday village with a capacity of 1,000 beds on a 30,000 m² area in Antalya, Belek, to its portfolio in 2001. With expansion works carried out in 2003, the facility grew to 75,000 m² with 742 rooms and was rebranded as Pine Beach Resort.
As of 2007, both properties were merged under the Pine Beach Belek brand, becoming a luxury resort with 742 rooms. Offering the largest in-hotel congress area in the region with its 3,500-person capacity congress center, the facility has pioneered conference tourism and solidified Turka’s position in the sector.
Commitment to Sustainable Energy
Following its success in tourism, Turka focused on the energy sector with its commitment to sustainability and innovation. The company took a long-term step into renewable energy solutions by starting the construction of its first hydroelectric power plant in Kalecik in 2011 and commissioning it in 2013.
Starting in 2013, construction began on three hydroelectric plants in Kalecik, followed by two more in Ülkün in 2015, all of which became operational in 2018. Today, Turka operates five hydroelectric power plants in the Kızılırmak River basin, generating a total of approximately 44,287 MWm of electricity. This achievement underscores Turka’s significant contribution to Turkey’s renewable energy landscape and promotes ecological sustainability and economic prosperity for local communities.
