Sustainability

Sustainability is a core principle of Turka’s investment philosophy. Across both our tourism and energy operations, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact, using resources efficiently, and creating lasting value in the regions where we operate.

In our tourism operations, Pine Beach Belek holds the highest-level Stage 3 Sustainable Tourism Certificate, accredited by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). The resort’s 1,200 kW solar power plant supplies 26% of its electricity, while 510 solar thermal panels meet 25% of its hot-water demand. Operations are supported by nine national and international certifications, including the Zero Waste Certificate, ISO 14001 Environmental Management, and ISO 50001 Energy Management. All on-site transportation has been converted to electric vehicles.

In our energy operations, five hydroelectric plants in the Kızılırmak River basin contribute to Turkey’s renewable energy capacity with a combined installed power of over 42 MWe.

We report our sustainability performance annually in accordance with the GRI Standards.

Sustainability Initiatives in Energy

  • We enhance environmental safety by controlling river floods.
  • We improve habitats for migratory birds and fish populations.
  • We support both regional and national energy needs with our clean energy generation capacity.
  • We create agricultural production opportunities that strengthen the local economy.

Eco-Friendly Approach in Tourism

  • We conduct environmentally conscious operations at our Green Certificate holding hotels.
  • We meet 25% of our hot water consumption and 20% of our electricity needs with solar energy.
  • We are constantly developing new solutions to reduce carbon emissions.
  • We transparently share our progress through our sustainability reports.

For Turka, sustainability is not a choice, but the foundation of our existence. In both tourism and energy, we aim to build today by protecting tomorrow.
